Pat Carrigan faces suspension for a high tackle, missing Brisbane's preliminary final; Reece Walsh cleared.
Pat Carrigan is set to be rubbed out of Brisbane's preliminary final as teammate Reece Walsh was cleared to play in the Broncos sudden-death clash against the Bulldogs or Penrith.
The NRL match-review committee's charge sheet had bitter-sweet repercussions for the Broncos with Walsh facing only two separate fines for headbutting Hudson Young and giving the bird to Canberra fans.
But the news wasn't as positive for Walsh's colleague Carrigan, who was hit with a grade-two careless high tackle on Morgan Smithies in the 56th minute of Brisbane's epic 29-28 finals defeat of the Raiders on Sunday.
With an early plea, Carrigan will cop a one-match suspension, while he faces a two-match ban - and risks being rubbed out of a possible grand final appearance - if he fights the charge at the NRL judiciary.
