And it might just have been the moment that led the Perth Bears' latest recruit Mason Barber to showcase his ability at fullback that had Mal Meninga singing his praises earlier this month.
Milford, a Samoan international and 219-game NRL player with Brisbane, Canberra, Newcastle and the Dolphins, was sent to the sin bin after he appeared to complain about the referee's decision not to award a penalty after some harsh treatment in the ruck while playing for Souths Logan against Mackay.
Milford appeared to throw his hands up and utter some words in the direction of the on-field referee, who did not hesitate to stop the game and give the five-eighth his marching orders.
It's unclear what Milford said to the referee, although the official did tell Magpies skipper Rory Ferguson that his decision came after both teams had been warned.
