Broncos sign inspiring forward until the end of 2027
Broncos strengthen their forward pack by signing Aublix Tawha from Yass Magpies on a two-year deal.

As if the Brisbane Broncos' forward pack wasn't deep enough already, the 2025 premiers have welcomed in yet another big man to strengthen their frontline.
In an exciting coup for the club, the Broncos have announced the signing of Aublix Tawha on a two-year deal, following an inspiring journey from scaffolding in New Zealand to the NRL stage.
That all changed when he moved to Australia in 2023 to play for Yass Magpies in the Canberra Region Rugby League competition.
His performances caught the eye of Broncos assistant coach Ben Te'o, who was coaching the Dolphins Hostplus Cup side at the time and brought Tawha to Queensland.

KFS Team of the Year 2025: Halfback
Jay Huriwai selected as halfback for 2025 Katrina Fanning Shield Team of the Year.

Congratulations to Jay Huriwai (West Belconnen Warriors) for her selection as the halfback in the 2025 Katrina Fanning Shield Team of the Year.
In her first year in the Katrina Fanning Shield, Huriwai hit the ground running for the Warriors playing a critical role in their quest for Premiership glory.
Despite only playing nine games this season, the crafty number seven packed plenty into those games having her hands in everything positive for West Belconnen, which included scoring four tries and kicking 31 goals for a total of 78 points.

CRC Team of the Year 2025: Five Eight
Ryan McQueen was named Five Eight in the 2025 Canberra Raiders Cup Team of the Year.

Congratulations to Ryan McQueen (West Belconnen Warriors) for his selection as the Five Eight in the 2025 Canberra Raiders Cup Team of the Year.
The West Belconnen Captain Coach led from the front for his beloved Warriors guiding them to a third placed finish.
Despite missing the middle part of the year with a hamstring injury, McQueen featured in twelve games for the Warriors, splitting his time between fullback and five-eight.

Along with guiding his Warriors to third position, McQueen also brought up a special milestone, playing his 150th First Grade game for the Warriors against the Gungahlin Bulls in the final game of the regular season.
