Bronwyn Fagan, recognized for her contributions, battles imposter syndrome but finds inspiration in women's sports developments.
Bronwyn Fagan has seen just about everything in Canberra. From working part-time at the Private Bin, to sitting on the board of the biggest sports team in the capital.
Even still, after her career as a trailblazer was recognised on the King's Birthday honours list and she had a plaque unveiled at the University of Canberra last year, she struggles to shake the feeling of 'imposter syndrome'.
But then she switches on a Women's Big Bash League game. She sees boys wearing Jade Melbourne jerseys to Canberra Capitals games. She watches the Raiders' NRLW squad band together for pre-season training and hears of dreams realised at the AFLW Draft.
Suddenly a place on the University of Canberra Sport Walk of Fame seems fitting, just a stone's throw from where her name resides on a plaque in the campus' law building.
