Elliott Whitehead faces three-match ban for hip-drop tackle during Raiders-Roosters clash. Judiciary appeal may follow.
Canberra Raiders skipper Elliott Whitehead will need to fight a three-match suspension at the judiciary if he is to play in the NRL again after he was slapped with the ban in the bitter fallout of the Raiders-Roosters clash.
Whitehead was hit with three match review charges on Monday morning - the most significant a three-match ban for his hip-drop tackle on Brandon Smith.
The Roosters fear Smith has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, but it's unclear if the Whitehead tackle or an earlier incident caused the injury.
