Coach Ricky Stuart insists Canberra must relish in their purple patch if they are to get the most out of their flailing NRL season.
Last year's minor premiers are struggling to replicate their results, sitting 16th on the ladder and needing to win about eight of their last nine games to get themselves into the finals race.
A victory against cellar dwellers St George Illawarra on Sunday at GIO Stadium would lay the platform for a remarkable push towards the top eight.
But Stuart is looking beyond the results and towards his players' futures.

'It was a strange injury': Ricky reveals surgery needed for Raiders star
Simi Sasagi returns for the Raiders despite shoulder issues, needing off-season surgery; other players may return next week.

Simi Sasagi's shoulder isn't 100 per cent, but the Canberra Raiders are hoping it will get through the rest of the NRL season.
He's still going to need surgery in the off-season, having missed the past five games.
Sasagi's the first of the Raiders troops to return, lining up in the centres against the cellar-dwelling Dragons at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.
But Canberra coach Ricky Stuart said Josh Papali'i (calf) and Noah Martin (ankles) would be available for selection next weekend if they didn't have the bye.

Matt Timoko could be excused for having one eye on his Canberra Raiders future.
But the centre's only concern is on following through from a Green Machine honesty session to launch a last-ditch effort to play NRL finals.
Discussions are ongoing between the Raiders and Timoko's manager, Richard White, over the Canberra centre's future.
The Raiders didn't take up their option for next season, but were in negotiations for 2027 and beyond, with the club also looking to lock in a raft of their other young guns.
