Injury-prone Ryan Sutton seeks NRL comeback after being released by the Bulldogs.

Injury-plagued forward Ryan Sutton is seeking another opportunity in the NRL as he aims for a career revival.

A former England 9s international, Sutton played four seasons with the Canberra Raiders from 2019 to 2022 before signing with the Canterbury Bulldogs for $550,000 a season. Unfortunately, his time there was marred by injuries that limited his impact.

Over the past three years, Sutton spent considerable time sidelined and was released by the Bulldogs in March. He was later picked up by the Gold Coast Titans on a train-and-trial basis.

In 1999, Cowboys player Brian Jellick made an unforgettable impact on Kiwis history when he scored four tries during his Test debut at Carlaw Park.

A skilled player from the Glenora Bears, Jellick gained recognition while playing for the Waitakere City Raiders in the Lion Red competitions between 1995 and 1996. He eventually joined the English second division team, Widnes, for the 1997 season.

After contributing to Glenora's victory in the Fox Memorial grand final in 1998 and representing New Zealand Māori on a tour of the Cook Islands, he landed a contract with North Queensland.

A magistrate dismissed charges against Josh Papali'i due to police mishandling of evidence.

A magistrate has put an end to the criminal case against Canberra Raiders veteran Josh Papali'i over the "cavalier approach" police officers took to the use of an encrypted messaging application.

"The unknown remains unknowable because of an intentional practice of the destruction of evidence," Chief Magistrate Lorraine Walker said.

Josh Papali'i, 33, was set to fight charges of intimidating police and failing to leave a licensed premises in an ACT Magistrates Court hearing in August, when defence first raised concerns about the conduct of investigators.
