    Kaeo Weekes looks set to shift to the halves for the first time in two years, with Daine Laurie to deputise at fullback in what would be his run-on Canberra Raiders debut.

    Raiders coach Ricky Stuart's injury-riddled team was starting to take shape ahead of their trip to the Gold Coast to take on the Titans on Saturday.

    "I threw 'K' straight in there yesterday - he's played in the halves," Stuart said.

    "Daine's played in the halves. Daine's played fullback.

    Kaeo Weekes will play five-eighth for the Raiders against the Titans due to injuries and player shortages.

    Canberra coach Ricky Stuart says he's had to throw a team together for their encounter against Gold Coast, with fullback Kaeo Weekes a chance to suit up at five-eighth. 

    The Raiders face the Titans on Saturday afternoon and are hoping to ignite their NRL season, having won just three of their opening eight games. 

    But Stuart's opportunity to pick up two much-needed points suffered a blow when five-eighth Ethan Strange didn't get through training on Thursday because of an ankle injury.

    Craig Bellamy should prioritize his health following a neurodegenerative diagnosis, says good friend Ricky Stuart.

    It's time for Craig Bellamy to put himself first.

    For almost 40 years the Melbourne Storm coach and Ricky Stuart have been mates, since they became Canberra Raiders teammates in the late 1980s.

    Such is their friendship, win, lose or draw the pair always catch up for a beer after games they go head-to-head in.

    And a few weeks ago they caught up on the phone to speak about Bellamy's health.
