Canberra Stadium redevelopment announced, addressing long-standing issues, with construction expected by 2050.

After complaints of bad smells, leaky roofs, poor Wi-Fi, smashed glass and years of frustration from fans, the ACT Government has finally announced plans for a redeveloped Canberra Stadium in 2056.

The state of Canberra Stadium has been in the spotlight recently, with Raiders coach Ricky Stuart summing up the thoughts of many locals by describing it as "sh!thou$e".

The project is currently in "early pre-consultation consultation phase", with the government set to seek community feedback as early as 2038. Once that feedback is immediately disregarded, a thorough review of the consultation phase will be conducted in 2046, with construction set to begin in 2050.

Fletcher Sharpe and Phoenix Crossland are likely to play for the Newcastle Knights against the Canberra Raiders this Sunday.

The Newcastle Knights are expected to name both Fletcher Sharpe and Phoenix Crossland for their Round 5 clash with the Canberra Raiders this weekend.

Teams will be confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, but early indications are that both players will be named for the home clash, played in the 4pm Sunday slot.

Crossland played through a broken nose during the game against the Canterbury Bulldogs on the weekend, and, per The Newcastle Herald is understood to have passed all concussion related tests since.

The utility, who has started the year at hooker and continues to be one of Newcastle's most crucial players, is likely to start at dummy half in the game against Canberra.

Andrew Johns suggested Ethan Strange shift to right edge, adjusting ball-handling for improved performance after four games this season.

And it seems Ethan Strange already has, with the boom Canberra Raiders five-eighth having already started work on a slight tweak to his game that Johns suggested.

Strange has shifted from the left edge to the right this season, to allow Ethan Sanders to come in on the left at halfback.

The 21-year-old hasn't quite had the same attacking impact yet this season - albeit after only four games.
