Their latest setback was shaped early, with prop Corey Horsburgh sin-binned in just the third minute.
The early dismissal proved costly, as Canberra conceded 12 points during his absence and was forced to chase the game from the outset.

The year was 1996 and the Roosters were up against the Broncos at the old Sydney Football Stadium.
The loss on Thursday night was the final nail in Anthony Seibold's coffin and the luckless coach will lament that referee Wyatt Raymond didn't give the home side a single penalty in 80 minutes.

'Emotional' Corey Horsburgh sin binned for professional foul that sparked melee against Sharks
Corey Horsburgh was sin-binned early in the Raiders-Sharks match, aiding Sharks' 12-0 lead with two quick tries.

Fiery Raiders prop Corey Horsburgh added another sin bin to his career tally in the first four minutes against the Sharks at GIO Stadium.
Early in the match, the Sharks received a penalty before Nicho Hynes took a quick tap with Horsburgh dropping him on his back despite not making it back 10 metres.
Sharks and Raiders players then came together in a melee but referee Grant Atkins didn't hesitate and immediately sent Horsburgh to the bin.
The absence of Horsburgh helped the Sharks go to a 12-0 lead with tries to Teig Wilton and KL Iro.
