  • Raiders' Seb Kris eyed by contender as Canberra steal a Bulldog

    Seb Kris

Warriors circle Raiders' centre as Canberra picks up a Bulldog

    The Australian

Raiders centre Seb Kris could be on the move with the Warriors circling the Kiwi international.

Kris has 12 months left on his contract with Canberra but they won't stand in his way if he can find a long-term elsewhere. The Warriors have emerged as a potential suitor for the 27-year-old as the club tries to boost its centre spot given Roger Tuivasa-Sheck moving to the Super League at the end of the season.

Kris, who played one Test for New Zealand in 2022, has struggled to keep his spot in the top grade this year despite being a mainstay of the Raiders side in the past six seasons. He has been swapped to the wing, played off the bench and at NSW Cup at times this year.

While Kris may be on the way-out, the Raiders have stolen one of the Bulldogs' own after landing man mountain Lipoi Hopoi to help with their premiership push next season.

The 24-year-old Hopoi has made 17 appearances for the 'Dogs since making is debut two years ago.

  • Season not over for Siosifa Talakai as Sharks reveal promising injury update

Sharks bench, Blayke Brailey and where to now for Canberra? NRL Finals, Raiders vs Sharks talking points

The Sharks hope Talakai will return in a week after suffering a bicep strain during the game against the Rabbitohs.

    Zero Tackle

The Cronulla Sharks are hopeful Perth Bears-bound utility will only miss a single week on their run to the NRL finals.

Talakai failed to finish Sunday afternoon's game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, which could well be the Sharks toughest over the final six weeks of the season given a tremendously straightforward run in where they play five of the bottom seven sides.

Talakai, who has been used at centre, second-row and in the middle third this year by Craig Fitzgibbon, is a critical cog in the machine for Cronulla, and when he came off with a bicep injury on Sunday, there were fears for his season.

It has been revealed however by the club that he has only suffered a strain, and they are hopeful he will be back for the Round 24 clash against the Canberra Raiders.
