One in, one in doubt: Rabbitohs forward pack to change for Perth

Brandon Smith returns for Rabbitohs; Koloamatangi has a manageable knee issue but may still play against the Raiders.

    Zero Tackle

The South Sydney Rabbitohs will have at least one change to their forward pack for next Saturday's clash with the Canberra Raiders, with Brandon Smith to return from a pre-season calf injury.

Koloamatangi looked sore during the opening exchanges of the clash with Canterbury on Friday, but managed to play through the pain barrier.

News Corp are now reporting he has a knee issue which will need to be managed throughout the season, although it's not likely to leave the Dragons-bound star out for any extended period of time.

That means he is still a chance of playing against the Raiders on Saturday, although no guarantee at this stage.

  • 'More panic outside than ... inside': Perfect time for an old Raiders sign

    David Polkinghorne

The Raiders face three losses but seek revival with a motivational sign, having previously upset the Knights in Newcastle.

    The Canberra Times

The players aren't happy with three losses in a row, but Ricky Stuart says there's more panic outside the Canberra Raiders than in.

Despite that, now would be the perfect time for the Green Machine to resurrect a sign that's worked in Newcastle before.

That's the infamous "F--- em" signed Stuart used to good effect against the Knights at the start of the 2024.

Largely written off, the Raiders upset the Knights in Newcastle to kick-start their 2024 campaign, with cameras showing the aforementioned signs in the sheds.

    Melanie Dinjaski

Canberra Raiders fan Matt Ward's stadium petition gains 4,000 signatures; supported by ACT Liberals for formal inquiry.

    The Canberra Times

Say you want a revolution? You better get it on right away, as John Lennon said.

And Canberra Raiders fan Matt Ward's efforts to put power to the people has been given an almighty boost in the ACT Legislative Assembly this past week.

Ward's online Change petition calling for a new or revamped Canberra Stadium has gained momentum with 4000 signatures, but the ACT Liberals have now sponsored the Raiders supporter in another, more formal e-petition lodged with the Assembly.

"I met with Matt Ward and he asked me to sponsor an Assembly e-petition calling for a review of the fitness of the stadium, and whether there is a need for a new one," Member for Ginninderra Peter Cain told The Canberra Times.
