Junior Canberra Raiders star Jacob Iosefa has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit at The Canberra Hospital as he begins a long road to recovery after a car accident last week.
The Raiders confirmed Iosefa had come out of an induced coma, but said he was now facing an indefinite period in hospital.
The teenager fractured his neck and had bleeding on the brain after being involved in an accident while driving from Wagga to Canberra.
Sessions with Barrett inspire Eels' Brown to his best
Parramatta five-eighth Dylan Brown will be out to weaponise Trent Barrett's attacking wisdom when he takes the reins from Mitchell Moses in the clash against Canberra this Saturday.
Moses suffered a category-one head knock attempting a tackle in the Eels' 26-24 Magic Round loss to Gold Coast and has been ruled out of round 11 per the concussion protocols introduced by the NRL this season.
The Eels' following game against South Sydney will come only 12 days after Moses' concussion, so the halfback is no guarantee of returning for that fixture if he experiences prolonged symptoms.
The oft-repeated line in sports is "defence wins championships", and the Canberra Raiders' NRLW team will be built on that mantra.
