JACK Wighton isn’t the first player to sacrifice money for the chance at trying to win a premiership.
Wighton’s great mate Latrell Mitchell also went down a similar road when the Wests Tigers offered him more than $4 million to join the club back in 2019.
Latrell ultimately joined the Rabbitohs to play under Wayne Bennett on a deal worth far less.

Outgoing Raiders gun Jack Wighton has been subjected to racial abuse on social media after it was announced he would join the Rabbitohs from 2024.
According to
The Daily Telegraph
, the NRL Integirty Unit is set to investigate the vile tirade which the 30-year-old shared on Instagram.

Raiders superstar Jack Wighton has opened up about his agonising decision to leave Canberra, declaring: "it's my job to bash my body for the club and the fans" in every game for the rest of the season.
In his first interview since he shocked the rugby league world, Wighton said he had been inundated with messages - mostly supportive - from friends, fans and teammates after he told the Raiders he was leaving the club at the end of the year.
But he has also been subjected to vile, racist abuse on social media after deciding to quit the Raiders.
