Wighton, who retired from representative football earlier this week, has indicated he will test his value before deciding his next contract move.
The 30-year-old has spent the entirety of his NRL career with the Raiders.
Wighton has received interest from the Dolphins but reports emerged on Wednesday that Souths were also weighing up an offer.
The Canberra Raiders' leadership group is solving one piece of the outside-back puzzle that's giving coach Ricky Stuart headaches.
They still want co-captain Jarrod Croker in the 13.
Canberra's senior players went to Stuart two weeks ago and suggested Croker - and his now 294 NRL games of experience - be brought into a struggling backline to help bolster it.
The Canberra Raiders' NRLW side's quickly becoming the family club.
Both Chante Temara and Felice Quinlan have joined their sisters Zahara and Ash respectively by signing for the inaugural Green Machine.
Plus they'e also landed Indigenous All Star Tommaya Kelly-Sines, who scored the match-winning try in last year's NRLW All Stars game against the Maoris.
