Corey Horsburgh is ready to answer Queensland's call and his last fortnight's work for the high-flying Canberra Raiders proves he has the Origin traits and habits Billy Slater demands. 

Maroons coach Slater conceded Horsburgh was stiff to miss out on selection for the opening game of the series where Queensland were manhandled by NSW in a 18-6 defeat in Brisbane. 

Needing to save the series, Slater is preparing to name his team for game two in Perth on June 18.

Mitchell Barnett has a ruptured ACL, ending his season and impacting the Warriors' success this year.

Mitchell Barnett has been ruled out for the season after scans confirmed the Warriors and NSW State of Origin prop has suffered a ruptured ACL.

Barnett had the worst news confirmed on Monday in Auckland, after being assisted from the ground in the Warriors' 36-30 win over South Sydney on Sunday.

His injury comes as a mega blow for the Warriors, with Barnett a key member of the club's rise up the ladder to second spot this year.
