    Queensland coach Billy Slater gave a clear message to Corey Horsburgh and Xavier Savage that the door was not closed on their Origin participation this year.

    Now the Canberra Raiders duo have a chance to show Slater what he's missing with a big game this Sunday against the second-placed Warriors in Auckland.

    Raiders coach Ricky Stuart had a smaller selection headache than anticipated when NSW Blues star Hudson Young was the only player unavailable on Origin duties ahead of game one next Wednesday.

    Canberra Raiders prop Corey Horsburgh is a shock omission from Queensland's State of Origin side.

    Maroons coach Billy Slater named his team on Monday morning with Horsburgh's name a notable absence.

    Instead, Slater has gone with Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and Moeaki Fotuaika as his starting front row - despite Horsburgh being part of a Green Machine that overran the Gold Coast pair in a 40-24 demolition at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.

    Clint Gutherson and Keaon Koloamatangi have both shut the gap to the top five in Zero Tackle's NRL MVP race for 2025 on the back of perfect performances during Round 11.

    The duo were two of five players to put together perfect games, with all four judges awarding them maximum points. The Dragons fullback and South Sydney Rabbitohs forward were joined by returning Parramatta Eels winger Zac Lomax, Cronulla Sharks prop Addin Fonua-Blake and Canberra Raiders fullback Kaeo Weekes.
