    And it's a big one - Simi Sasagi, the Green Machine's standout player so far this season.

    A shoulder injury forced him off after about 30 minutes and he'll go for scans during the week.

    Normally Kaylie Stuart's emotions are through the roof - just praying her son doesn't get hurt.

    But when her son Jed made his NRL debut for the Canberra Raiders she was actually quite calm.

    That's despite the extra pressure and attention her son - and the son of Canberra coach Ricky Stuart - was always going to get.

    But it turned out to be the perfect night - Jed scored a try as the Raiders beat the Wests Tigers 16-12 at Campbelltown in round 16 last year.

    It's the massive injury boost every Canberra Raiders fan wanted to hear, with coach Ricky Stuart confirming his young five-eighth was on track for the Penrith Panthers blockbuster at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.

    And in further good news, Stuart said reinforcements were on their way after the Magic Round bye.

    Zac Hosking (concussion) and Xavier Savage (ankle) were the closest to bolstering the Raiders ranks, while Josh Papali'i (calf) wasn't far behind.
