Corey Horsburgh surprised by enjoying meals without sauce after challenging NRL season in 2025.

Never did Corey Horsburgh think he'd be able to eat a meal without a side of sauce, but the Raiders forward is a new man in 2025.

There was only one way Horsburgh could describe the last NRL season after injuries, suspensions and an ugly, much-publicised fallout with Canberra coach Ricky Stuart.

"It was shitty - that's the easiest way to put it," he said. "I didn't come into the year in the best knick, I got some niggly injuries, and made some bad decisions."

Albert Hopoate misses round one for child's birth, faces sleepless nights without coffee. It's tough.

As if it wasn't hard enough for Albert Hopoate to make the decision to miss round one in Las Vegas for the birth of his first child, the Raiders star is also gearing up for sleepless nights without the assistance of coffee.

"That's going to be the biggest struggle. I enjoy my sleep, but I know once baby comes, it will be very minimal. I don't drink coffee, but I'll find a way," Hopoate told The Canberra Times.

As a devout Mormon from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hopoate doesn't consume caffeine, meaning pending baby duties as a first-time dad won't be easy.

Ricky Stuart decided to leave his son out of the Raiders squad for Las Vegas, sparking resistance from players.

Canberra coach Ricky Stuart had made the decision that his son, Jed - a player rising through the ranks at the Raiders - was going to be left out of the squad for Las Vegas.

Stuart's decision, partly motivated by a concern over accusations of nepotism, was met with resistance by some of the club's senior players.

Raiders captain Joe Tapine phoned Stuart at the start of the month to raise his concerns over the coach's decision to not bring his 23-year-old son on the trip. It was followed up by Hudson Young and Jamal Fogarty, who also both approached Stuart about the decision.
