Double ACL blows to Smith, Walker leave Roosters reeling

Brandon Smith is feared to have ruptured his ACL in the second brutal blow to the Sydney Roosters' premiership hopes as he joins star halfback Sam Walker in staring down a lengthy recovery that will stretch well into 2025.
Scans confirmed late on Sunday evening that Walker requires a knee reconstruction after clutching at his knee having contested a kick in a devastating 14-12 loss to Canberra.
Smith is awaiting follow-up scans on Monday morning, but they are expected to confirm that he too has torn his ACL in a contentious Elliott Whitehead tackle that led to a heated exchange between he and Roosters coach Trent Robinson.

Roosters rally from 10-0 down to defeat Canberra 34-20, taking advantage of Raiders player's sin bin.

The Roosters overcame an early 10-0 deficit to beat Canberra 34-20.
After failing to take their chances early, the Tri-colours took charge of the game while Raiders Hollie-Mae Dodd was in the sin bin for a hip-drop tackle.
Mia Wood ran in two tries while Dodd was off the field and Eliza Lopamaua another, as the Roosters went from 10-6 behind to 22-10 up.
