    Raiders forward clears the air in heart-to-heart with Stuart

    Guler discussed with coach, won't seek release. Raiders supporting but mindful of squad strength.

    Canberra Raiders prop Emre Guler has had a heart-to-heart with coach Ricky Stuart, but hasn't asked the club for a release on compassionate grounds and won't leave the club in the lurch.

    The Raiders were intent on working closely with Guler and helping him however they could, but they're also mindful of not weakening their squad.

    Guler, born and raised in Sydney, is contracted to the Green Machine until the end of 2025.

    Queensland won the first ever three-game Women's State of Origin series thanks to a commanding 22-6 victory over NSW in Townsville, with victory sealed by the sister of a Green Machine star.

    Maroons five-eighth Tarryn Aiken tormented the Sky Blues with her kicking game in the wet as Tazmin Rapana - sister to NRL fullback Jordan - scored the game-sealing try to clinch the decider.

    Raiders duo Sophie Holyman and Tamara Zehara proudly represented the capital as Queensland celebrated in front of a sell-out crowd.

    'It would be nice': Raiders could rest 'Papa' to play his 300th at home

    Canberra Raiders may rest Josh Papali'i for 300th game celebration at home against Manly.

    Just as they did with Jarrod Croker, the Canberra Raiders could rest Josh Papali'i so they can host the party for his 300th NRL game at home.

    That would see him play his milestone game against Manly at Canberra Stadium on August 10.

    At the moment, Papali'i is on track to play it against the Canterbury Bulldogs at Belmore on August 22.
