Canberra's three-month wait for a win on home soil is over.

Jamal Fogarty's perfect night from the tee saw the Raiders snap a four-game losing streak with a 20-18 win over the New Zealand Warriors in front of 8509 at Canberra Stadium on Friday night.

The Raiders hadn't won at home since April. They hadn't won a game in almost seven weeks. The punters clad in puffer jackets and beanies figured this one might end the drought as the Raiders skipped out to a 14-0 lead.

Canberra are on the brink of their worst NRL home streak in almost a decade but there's no reason to panic just yet, according to coach Ricky Stuart.

The Raiders have not heard the GIO Stadium viking horn sound in triumph since a golden-point victory over Gold Coast in round seven.

A loss to the Warriors on Friday would extend the home victory drought to at least 15 weeks.

The last time the Raiders lost five in a row at home was in 2014, when they finished the season second bottom.

Stuart occasionally disappointed in players' energy, but emphasizes importance of balance throughout season.

There are days Ricky Stuart walks off the training track disappointed with the energy and performance of his players.

"But it's not often," the Canberra Raiders coach said.

"Look, it's a long season. It doesn't start in February-March, it starts in November-December. It's a very, very long season and how you balance that with workloads, how you balance that with their life outside football, how you balance the breaks in regards to the byes, it's very important.
