    'It would be nice': Raiders could rest 'Papa' to play his 300th at home

    Canberra Raiders may rest Josh Papali'i for 300th game celebration at home against Manly.

    Just as they did with Jarrod Croker, the Canberra Raiders could rest Josh Papali'i so they can host the party for his 300th NRL game at home.

    That would see him play his milestone game against Manly at Canberra Stadium on August 10.

    At the moment, Papali'i is on track to play it against the Canterbury Bulldogs at Belmore on August 22.

    The last game of Saturday will be a test for the Raiders, a team that is leaking points and lacking cohesion and is facing a home team that hasn't tasted defeat at AAMI Park this year.

    With 82 points put against them in the last two rounds, Coach Ricky Stuart will be looking for his team to toughen up and at least be competitive.

     Last round saw the Green Machine cop a shellacking from the Wests Tigers 48-24. The Raiders only had any effect in the game when the Tigers were reduced to 12 men for 10 minutes. Some spirited performances from Joseph Tapine, Jordan Rapana and Nick Cotric were not enough, and the error count took the life out of what, on paper, is actually a tough team.

    Nick Cotric to exit Raiders for Super League at season’s end

    Nick Cotric moves to Catalans Dragons in NRL exit after second stint with Raiders.

    Nick Cotric will leave Canberra at the end of this NRL season, with the former Australian Test winger to move to Catalans Dragons.

    Cotric on Thursday morning confirmed a new three-year deal with the French-based English Super League club, ending his second stint with the Raiders.

    A NSW State of Origin winger in 2019, Cotric was on the rise when he left Canberra for Canterbury at the end of the following season.

    But he has since been unable to recapture his best form, returning to Canberra in 2022 after an unhappy stint at the Bulldogs.
