    The Canberra Raiders have reportedly decided on Ricky Stuart's future as head coach after recently coaching his 500th game as an NRL head coach.

    In what could be announced as early as Wednesday, The Daily Telegraph has reported that the Raiders are set to table him a four-year contract extension until the end of the 2029 NRL season.

    Already under contract until the conclusion of the 2025 season, the major development regarding the 57-year-old's future comes as a reward for guiding the club into the top eight despite the high-profile losses of Jarrod Croker and Jack Wighton.

    "It is built around the current process the club is going through where they're trying to develop and generate that next gen player," Riccio said on Tuesday night.

    journalist Dave Riccio, who revealed on NRL 360 that the 57-year-old will ink a four-year extension, which will be announced "within the next 24 to 48 hours."

    Stuart was already signed until the end of 2025, but the new deal will keep him in the nation's capital until the end of 2029.

    Stuart, already the longest-serving coach in Raiders history, had 18 months to run on his contract after re-signing in mid 2022.
