The Raiders cavalry finally arrives: What it means for crucial stretch

Canberra Raiders welcome back key players for Magic Round after injury-plagued season start.

    The Canberra Times

The Canberra Raiders' cavalry is finally returning with fullback Jordan Rapana to follow skipper Elliott Whitehead's triumphant comeback and add some much-needed experience for Magic Round - and it couldn't come at a better time.

The Raiders face a crucial three-game stretch starting with the Bulldogs on Friday night, followed by a home clash against the Roosters and an away trip to face the Dolphins before their next bye.

With injuries to key players including halfback Jamal Fogarty, Origin prop Corey Horsburgh, and back-rower Zac Hosking, keeping the season on track until those stars are healthy is a focus.

Hudson Young seeks redemption in State of Origin squad after being dropped last year.

    The Canberra Times

Hudson Young has unfinished business in State of Origin and he's hoping to get a chance of redemption when the NSW Blues squad is named in a fortnight.

Young played in games one and two in Origin last year before he was dropped for game three with NSW already having lost the series to Queensland.

The 24-year-old's club form for the Raiders has him again in the conversation for another Blues call-up, and the thought is not far from Young's mind either.
