Kaeo Weekes will become Raiders #397 after being named to make his first appearance for the club when they take on the Sharks in Canberra on Sunday.

The 22-year-old came to the club over the offseason from Manly and has found himself playing in the NSW Cup with Ethan Strange the preferred NRL five-eighth.

With halfback Jamal Fogarty set to miss three months with a biceps injury, Weekes will now get an extended chance in the top grade to partner Strange in the halves.

Just days after the Canberra Raiders suffered a big halfback blow, they've taken a positive step towards landing their potential future No.7, Ethan Sanders.

The Raiders have agreed to terms with Sanders on a three-year deal, but now have to wait out the 10-day cooling-off period before they can sign him.
