Chevy Stewart quit school at 17 years old to pursue his NRL dream and on Sunday that gamble will pay off when he runs out at GIO Stadium for his debut.

Coach Ricky Stuart could've turned to Xavier Savage or Seb Kris to replace the injured Jordan Rapana at fullback. But instead he's putting his faith in Stewart - an exciting talent that has the rock star personality to match his catchy name.
Stewart was born and raised in the Sutherland Shire. He played for the Kurnell Stingrays before joining the Sharks, where he was named Junior Representative Player of the Year in 2022 after starring in their Harold Matthews team.
His talent caught the attention of several clubs but the Raiders won the race after a dinner with Stuart.

NRL hits Sharks with $5000 fine after trainer incident
Sharks fined $5000 for trainer running next to Raiders player during conversion attempt.

The Sharks have been fined $5000 over an incident where a trainer ran next to Raiders halfback Jamal Fogarty as he attempted a crucial conversion attempt.
The NRL has issued Cronulla a breach notice for the actions of trainer Daniel Holdsworth during the club's win over Canberra at PointsBet Stadium on March 31.
Holdsworth was seen running past Fogarty as he moved in for a sideline attempt with the Raiders trailing by eight points with a little over seven minutes left. The kick cannoned into an upright and missed.

Canberra Raiders close to securing young talent Ethan Strange with long-term contract extension.

The Canberra Raiders are on the verge of upgrading and locking in one of the most exciting young halves in the NRL.
Discussions were progressing well between the Raiders and young five-eighth Ethan Strange and they could be finalised early next week.
Strange was already contracted until the end of 2025, but the Green Machine has moved to lock him in long term after his impressive start to the season.
