Foran breaks coaching record in Manly's win over Eels
Kieran Foran led the Sea Eagles to a record fourth straight win, defeating Parramatta 33-18, marking a historic start for an interim NRL coach.

Kieran Foran has started his Manly tenure better than any interim coach on record thanks to a 33-18 defeat of Parramatta at Brookvale Oval.
Since the grand-final era began in 1954, no coach had ever taken over an NRL side mid-season and won their first four games - until Manly club legend Foran capped an unbeaten opening month on Sunday.
Returning home for the first time since Anthony Seibold's sacking, Manly struggled to execute in a 7-6 first half finished off by Jamal Fogarty's field goal.

As far as omens go, Indianna Carroll reckons it might be a good one as she chases her dream of making an elite NFL cheer squad.
Carroll, the daughter of former rugby league hardman Mark "Spudd" Carroll, is in the final stages of auditions this week for the Las Vegas Raiderettes ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The process includes a public vote in which Australian fans can lodge their support for the ex-Manly cheerleader.
On Friday, the Raiders drafted quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No.1 overall pick as the franchise, which is part owned by the legendary Tom Brady, tries to resurrect its on-field fortunes.
"We've been making a bit of a joke because the star quarterback who has been drafted (for the Raiders) is from Indiana," Carroll's mother Monique said.

A post-game clash between Turuva and Starling escalated after accusations of "snitching" during handshakes at Leichhardt Oval.

A sledge about being a "snitch" was heard during an explosive post-game show-down between Sunia Turuva and Tom Starling on Thursday night.
Turuva and Starling had to be separated by teammates as players shook hands following the Tigers' 33-14 win against the Raiders at Leichhardt Oval.
Those nearby said someone was accused of being a "snitch". What about exactly and who said it - given there were a handful of players nearby - is unclear.
However Turuva and Starling had been chirping all game which culminated in them almost trading blows after the full-time siren.
It seemed to occur just moments after Turuva shook hands with Corey Horsburgh.

Royce Hunt's 40-metre charging run through the middle of the Raiders for his second try in 2026 also fired a warning shot to his old club Cronulla and produced food-for-thought for Samoan selectors on what the prop might be able to conjure at World Cup time.
Kalgoorlie-born Hunt will play his 99th NRL game in Round 9 against the Sharks at the ground he spent five years at - Ocean Protect Stadium.
