    Katrina Fanning Shield: Major Semi Final Preview

    West Belconnen Warriors and Belconnen United Sharks compete for Katrina Fanning Shield Grand Final spot.

    The West Belconnen Warriors and Belconnen United Sharks face off on Saturday afternoon at Seears Workwear Oval, as they look to be the first team to punch their ticket into the Katrina Fanning Shield Grand Final. 

    The West Belconnen Warriors enter the major semi-final as minor premiers, after going through the regular season suffering one defeat, with outside back Gabby Savage saying it's been an enjoyable season to date. 

    "This year being one of the youngest in the team, I've enjoyed the season. Coming into the finals knowing that, we have the big bodies to do the job, so it's just now for this final's series, to put it on and show everyone," Savage said.

    Darby Medlyn Wins the 2025 Les McIntyre Medal

    Darby Medlyn wins 2025 Les McIntyre Medal for best and fairest in Canberra Raiders Cup.

    Darby Medlyn of the Tuggeranong Bushrangers has won the 2025 Les McIntyre Medal, recognised as the best and fairest of the Canberra Raiders Cup competition. 

    The Bushrangers leader narrowly edged out finalists Dylan McLachlan, Ryan McQueen and Mitch Cornish, securing the award by four votes. 


    After missing the 2024 season with an ACL injury, Medlyn returned to the field this year and has been instrumental for the Bushrangers outfit. 

    Under his leadership, the Bushrangers have gone a ten-game win streak, where Medlyn polled votes in seven of those games, including five man of the matches.

    The Bungendore Tigers have been declared minor premiers after Rule 45 has been enacted. 

    After the Boorowa Rovers victory over the Crookwell Green Devils saw them join the Tigers on 20 competition points and a points differential of 310, Rule 45 has been enacted to find the 2025 George Tooke Shield minor premiers. 

    Rule 45 states the following, If two or more teams are equal in competition points and equal in the difference between points scored for and against then the following formula will be used to separate the teams.
