The Raiders travel north along the Hume Highway this weekend to face the Newcastle Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Canberra have kept their lineup unchanged to preserve combinations and build momentum across the park.

Having lost all three previous encounters with the Knights, the Raiders are keen to rewrite that record as both clubs sit level on six competition points.

Newcastle arrive off a 22-14 defeat to the Warriors in New Zealand and have tweaked personnel for round seven.

Ricky Stuart gives a post match press conference

Corey Horsburgh is set to join the Perth Bears, unrelated to last weekend's incident, as coach Ricky Stuart clarifies his absence.

Corey Horsburgh, a forward for the Canberra Raiders, seems poised to sign with the Perth Bears, although both he and head coach Ricky Stuart insist this decision is unrelated to last weekend's altercation.

Following last weekend's events, Horsburgh was left out of this weekend's match against the Sharks and is reportedly preparing to transition to the Perth Bears after the current season concludes.

While speculation arose that his omission resulted from tensions between him and Stuart, the head coach clarified on Friday that the decision was simply a matter of giving the prop a rest, as the Raiders' chances of reaching the finals are nearly extinguished.

"I decided to give him a rest. I spoke to Corey about that, and he was comfortable," Stuart explained regarding the forward's absence from this weekend's lineup.

Stuart clarifies Horsburgh situation as Perth move looms

Corey Horsburgh is joining the Perth Bears, but his recent exclusion from a game isn't related to conflicts with Coach Stuart.

    Zero Tackle

Canberra Raiders forward Corey Horsburgh is set to join the Perth Bears, but both him and head coach Ricky Stuart have suggested it has nothing to do with last weekend's blow up.

Horsburgh found himself dropped from this weekend's game against the Sharks after the incidents of last weekend, with the forward then reportedly signing a deal with the Perth Bears to leave the nation's capital at the end of the season.

It was believed his axing came about given the issues between he and Stuart, but speaking on Friday, the head coach said it was simply a rest for the prop with the Raiders all but out of finals contention.

"I decided to give him a rest. I spoke to Corey about that, and he was comfortable," Stuart said of the forward not playing this weekend.
