Coach Ricky Stuart believes Ethan Strange is nowhere near a finished product after the star playmaker produced another inspirational performance to steer Canberra to a hoodoo-busting 26-12 victory against North Queensland.

After sparking NSW to a 22-20 comeback win in the State of Origin series opener on Wednesday, the five-eighth was influential on Sunday, making crucial tackles, scoring a try, assisting another and posting eight tackle busts at GIO Stadium.

And he's urging more of his stars to step up into the representative arena after the five-eighth made his NSW debut.

Just days after being parachuted into the starting line-up with Mitchell Moses ruled out with a hamstring injury, Strange played a dazzling role in the Blues' epic 22-20 comeback victory in game one at Accor Stadium.
