Ricky Stuart claims Queensland's pick-and-stick culture is changing; Cherry-Evans dropped for Dearden in Origin II.

Ricky Stuart has suggested Queensland has broken its pick-and-stick culture by dropping captain Daly Cherry-Evans for State of Origin II to play Tom Dearden at number seven.

Maroons coach Billy Slater on Monday confirmed his 20-man squad for the must-win clash, with Cherry-Evans missing from the side.

Second-rower Beau Fermor has also been dropped, with Kurt Capewell returning to the side and Kurt Mann the new number 14, with Dearden at halfback.

After suffering their fourth consecutive loss over the weekend to the Penrith Panthers, the Wests Tigers have received some positive news as they enter the bye this week.

With Latu Fainu (thumb) and Jeral Skelton (hamstring) making their returns back to the field against the Panthers, coach Benji Marshall confirmed that Alex Twal (concussion) and Fonua Pole (knee) will be available for selection for their next match against the Canberra Raiders in Round 16.

Raiders lead NRL after defeating Rabbitohs; Broncos triumph over Titans with Reece Walsh's return.

It was another action-packed weekend of NRL as the Raiders went to the top of the table after thumping the Rabbitohs in Josh Papalii's milestone match.
