    Raiders tame Tigers to secure minor premiership

    The Raiders secured the J.J. Giltinan Shield, winning before a packed crowd with late heroics.

    Finishing on top of the table for the first time since 1990 with a stirring performance, played before a sold-out crowd of 23,746 supporters, the Raiders were made to work for the J.J. Giltinan Shield with captain Joseph Tapine sending Ethan Strange over to clinch the result with only minutes left on the clock.

    Taking until the mid-point of the first half to open the scoring, a towering bomb from Jamal Fogarty reaped rewards for Jed Stuart (18th minute), who pounced when his opposite number - Sunia Turuva - allowed the ball to bounce in-goal.

    The Tigers looked to be cruising to a comfortable lead, going up 28-16 inside the final 20 minutes, before the Cowboys stormed home to score three-straight tries and stun the Leichhardt faithful.

  • Reuben the dinosaur kid set to make 'memories for life' with latest Raiders act

    Reuben Jones, the "Dinosaur Kid," will cheer for the Raiders at Canberra Stadium on Saturday.

    Reuben Jones - "The Dinosaur Kid from Mudgee" - will be at Canberra Stadium on Saturday, cheering on the Green Machine against the West Tigers.

    Dad Mitchell has also written a heartfelt letter of thanks to the Raiders for giving his 10-year-old son "memories for life".

    Mr Jones said Reuben would be wearing his dinosaur suit to Saturday's 3pm clash and looking forward to high-fiving a few fans.
