Raiders in the dark over dream Vegas start

Canberra Raiders unsure if they'll make Las Vegas NRL season opener in week.

    The Canberra Times

The Canberra Raiders are hopeful of finding out if their Las Vegas dream will come true within the next week, but they're still in the dark about whether they're one of the four teams.

Canberra has the feeling they might be the bridesmaid again after being the "fifth" team this year, but there was talk they could replace the Melbourne Storm as one of the final four.

It's been reported Penrith, the Warriors, Cronulla and the Storm were the NRL's preferred double header to kick start the 2025 NRL season in Sin City.

    Dolphins v Raiders preview

Dolphins have 7 wins, 4 losses. Raiders have 6 wins, 5 losses. Recent losses disappointing.

    League Unlimited

The Dolphins have had a surprisingly strong start to the season, coming away with seven wins and four losses (plus a bye), which leaves them sitting in fourth place. They fell short last week, against an extremely depleted Warriors side away from home, where they lacked cohesion and flare.

With Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Felise Kaufusi in QLD Origin camp, Trai Fuller slots back into fullback position, Mark Nicholls shifts from bench to starting prop and Anthony Milford joins the bench. Other than these forced changes, the team remains unchanged from the side who was defeated by the Warriors.

Floating around 8th position on the ladder, the Raiders have won six and lost five matches (along with one bye) so far this season. Last week they endured a disappointed 44-16 loss to the Roosters at home. Canberra's season has been up and down, with injuries constantly plaguing the side.

Canberra sports icon Brian Bourke remembered for legacy, coaching career with Queanbeyan Blues. RIP.

    The Canberra Times

The Canberra sporting community is mourning the loss of an icon who's name still sends a shudder down the spine of the players he used to coach.

Canberra Royals junior and Queanbeyan Blues legend Brian Bourke died this week after a long battle with dementia.

His passing prompted a flood of tributes for a man who is immortalised in bronze at the Queanbeyan Leagues Club - recognition of a 16-year career for the Blues.
