'That is not a try': Controversial Bunker call after Ricky's 'brutal' mid-game move in Raiders win
Xavier Savage's two intercept tries led Canberra Raiders to a controversial 24-16 win over the Dragons on Sunday.

Two Xavier Savage intercept tries has proven the difference for the Canberra Raiders, who bumbled their way to victory against the Dragons on Sunday afternoon.
Canberra's 24-16 win was telling of both team's lowly position on the NRL ladder but wasn't without controversy.
Savage's second try left Fox League commentator Cooper Cronk speechless when it appeared that teammate Simi Sasagi knocked Kyle Flanagan's pass on before the Raiders winger embarked on his 80-metre scoring effort.
The Bunker refused to intervene on the play, as a bemused Daniel Atikinson and Clinton Gutherson protested with on-field referee Ziggy Przeklasa-Adamski.

NSW Blues confirm team for State of Origin Game 3, 2026
NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley confirms squad changes for Game 3, recalling Crichton and debuting Bostock, with significant omissions.

NSW Blues head coach Laurie Daley has confirmed his squad for Game 3 of the 2026 State of Origin series in Brisbane, with a number of changes locked in.
After a shambolic lead up to Game 2, which saw Stephen Crichton replaced within hours of the team being named, and his replacement Casey McLean replaced days out from kick-off, Daley has elected to recall Crichton, as well as handing a debut to Jack Bostock, and bring Bradman Best into the side.
Tolutau Koula has been dropped to the bench, and Brian To'o misses the side altogether in what may be the biggest shock, while Kotoni Staggs has also been dropped.
The other big point of contention appeared to be in the halves, with Mitchell Moses selected for Game 1, then injuring his hamstring and being replaced by Ethan Strange.

From dodgy knock calls to inconsistency in officiating the hip drop - it's been an unhappy weekend for referees and the video bunker.
A number of head scratching calls left fans as confused as they were frustrated. On Sunday, the bunker was under the spotlight yet again after a try to Canberra's Xavier Savage was given the green light despite replays showing Simi Sasagi had touched the ball in the lead-up.
The touch from Sasagi appeared to send the ball floating forward.
While, the bunker can't rule on a forward pass it can rule on whether a touch constitutes a knock-on.
"That's not a try, it has been propelled forward by Sasagi and goes into the hands of Savage, yes his back is facing the tryline but … the ball touches Sasagi and is propelled forward," Cooper Cronk said on Fox League.

Two tries to back-rower Jeremiah Nanai, the latter coming from a flying kick retrieval effort over star Panthers Brian To'o and Dylan Edwards, proved the difference for the Cowboys who ended their three-game losing run.
But it would be 33-year-old Taumalolo who ended Saturday's home game the toast of Townsville, swamped by teammates following his first milestone game victory.
