    Has history taught us nothing? Did we not learn from the last time there was an NRL crackdown on the play-the-ball?

    Or has the memory of 2018 been lost in a COVID-19-induced brain fog?

    I almost choked on my Weet-Bix this morning when I saw that the NRL was considering a crackdown on the play-the-balls next year as part of their end-of-season review into the bunker, the universe and everything.

    Canberra Raiders try machine Xavier Savage is "happy to stay" in the capital as he hopes his Prime Minister's XIII debut becomes a stepping stone to higher representative honours.

    Savage will start on the wing for Australia's PM's XIII side to take on their Papua New Guinea counterparts in Port Moresby on Sunday.

    Coincidentally, he's not the only Savage in camp on the Gold Coast at the moment.

    Wife of Raiders star admits local footy match assaults

    Josh Papali'i's wife to admit assaulting two people at rugby match, facing guilty pleas in court.

    The wife of Canberra Raiders star player Josh Papali'i has indicated she will admit to assaulting two people at a local rugby league match.

    Mesepa Salesa, previously reported as being named Masepa Papali'i, faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday.

    Through barrister Stephen Robinson, the woman indicated guilty pleas to two counts of common assault relating to the violent July incident. She is set to formally plead guilty before a magistrate.
